Summer Camp

Once again this summer, Grace Academy will host a fun-filled dance and theatre camp. Students will have the opportunity to experience ballet, modern, jazz, tap, folk dance, musical theatre and acting in week-long sessions. Camps will be held at our studio, at 785 Pacific Road, Unit 1 in Oakville (off of Wyecroft, between 3rd line and Bronte Rd).

We are offering three summer camp programs, based on the age of the camper.

Junior Creative Dance
This program is for dancers aged 4 to 7 (dancers must be 4 years of age by July 1st). The camp is run as a half-day program from Monday to Friday.

Dancers will participate in ballet, creative movement and jazz dance. We will experiment with rhythm, and learn simple songs and stories. There will be a craft and snack time..

Dancers should bring a snack and plenty to drink with them each day. Grace Academy strives to provide a nut-free environment, so we ask that you do not send nut products with your dancer.

Dance and Musical Theatre
This camp is available for dancers aged 8 and up. Dancers will be divided into appropriate groups based on age and experience.

Dancers will participate in ballet, modern jazz, tap, folk dance, musical theatre and acting. A simple ‘musical’ will be performed at the end of the week, showcasing what they have learned. Dancers will also be given the opportunity to choreograph their own dancers with guidance on ‘what makes a dance interesting’. A simple craft will be worked on each day.. 

Dancers should bring a snack and lunch each day, as well as plenty to drink. Grace Academy strives to provide a nut-free environment, so we ask that you do not send nut products with your dancer.

Dance Intensive
This camp is open to dancers aged 10 and older, or to those with appropriate experience (as determined by the Director). Dancers will be divided into appropriate groups based on experience.

Dancers will have the opportunity to improve their dance skills while developing increased strength and flexibility.  Classes in ballet, modern, jazz and tap will be combined with daily body conditioning work.  Choreography and improvisation skills will be developed – dancers will be given the opportunity to choreograph group and solo pieces. Guest teachers will join with Grace Academy staff.

Extended Hours
Before and after camp care is available for an additional fee. Please check with the Academy for more details

Summer Camp Registration
To register your child for summer camp, please click here to print a registration form. Please fill out one form per child and mail it or drop it off at our studio along with a non-refundable deposit of $25 for the half-day program or $50 for a full-day program and a post-dated cheque, dated June 1, 2012, for the remainder of the fees.

Our summer camps are in high demand and space is limited, so don’t delay!
